Cal Farley, a professional wrestler and Amarillo businessman, founded Boys Ranch for at-risk youth on ranchland northwest of Amarillo, Texas. The community and school opened in March 1939 in Oldham County on the site of Old Tascosa. The family of a prominent Texas rancher donated the first 120 acres.
